No more chat

Don't wanna do a full update, but I'm letting everyone know that I've turned off chat from now forward. As much as I love chatting, it's really not good for my game and definitely better for me to have it off and focussing on my games.

Will do a larger update soon, I'm getting a coaching from Glitlr this week so hopefully he can plug some of my leaks!

Cheers and good luck all.

Taking the Weekend Off

So things haven't changed too much since my last update, still swinging hard. had a pretty awesome upswing and it looked like i was finally going to make my graph look better - and then stupid ridiculous downswing again. Ran like 1k below ev at the 36s in like 150 games, I just can't seem to run well at all at them. I gotta maintain my low leaderboard spot too at the 24s too, so I'll have to spend some more time there. I would like to cash in on the high limit leaderboard too so I'll get some games in in the second half of the month too. Oh and I'm now halfway through the challenge so far despite running like ass.

Anyways, I'm off to my buddy's cabin in Kenora for the weekend, will try to get some sun and maybe some fishing in. Getting away from the games for a couple days will be nice too.

Swongs to Start July

So July has definitely been interesting so far. I started on Canada Day with a pretty ugly $675 downswing at the $24s. $650 below EV. Thoroughly enjoyed it, obv. Decided I should probably return to the $12s to patch up my roll (even still being well over-rolled for the $24s) and regain some confidence. Ran at 40% over 118 games (luck adjusted 23%) at the $12s for $564, ldo. It's sick how much better I run at the $12s than I do the $24s lifetime. I actually found that some of the regs at the $12s adjusted better to me than $24 regs in the short time down there, which was pretty funny. Then ran much better when I returned to the $24s and patched up my redline to be even for the month - well like $5 below but effectively even. Cleared my mid-year bonus during this time for about $225, received my rakebackpros rake race bonus, and woke up to find my June low limit leaderboard bonus in my account this morning. Ship it, bonus whoring ftw. With rb/bonuses, I've already made more in July than I have in June. Cue the downswing for jinxing my rungood.

June Recap

What an awful month. Thanks god for rakeback. The whole month has been disgusting runbad. Gonna keep studying and reviewing to make sure im not making too many mistakes. I think I am shoving well and wiz seems to be agreeing with me as long as I am setting ranges right - which i think I'm pretty close. I mean wiz doesnt agree with me on everything, but it shouldn't for me to be playing my best. Not gonna give out too much strat talk tho since I know there are too many players at the 24s reading my blog lol. Put in sick volume the last two days to reach my monthly goal of 2k games and i did that with 2062 games played in June.

Anyways, $225 midyear bonus coming up, plus low limit LB bonus again, and I think i squeaked into the rakebackpros rake race for $50. Which is cool considering its probably the toughest rake race in the world. I'll find out in the morning whether or not I made it.

I have some yeoman's work to do in July to get back on pace for the challenge obv.

July Goals:
[ ] 2k games
[ ] 3k profit
[ ] update my blog more
[ ] stop chasing my goddamn redline and maybe run good?

New Laptop, Downswingaments, etc.

I'm getting lazy with the updating of this blog, so maybe if I update it more I'll run better. A lot has happened since the last update - I bought faarcyde's old backup laptop, it came here last week. As i've been working on a mac the whole time before this, I've never had any access to sngwiz, HEM, table ninja, and all those awesome tools. So now that I do have access to them I'm really excited about improving.

Unfortunately the poker hasn't been anywhere near up to par - been running absolutely awful for all of June. I won't post my EV graph, because I think the EV graph is extremely overrated based on the fact that it doesnt represent the number of times you make the correct play yet run into a monster. Which has more or less represented my month IMO - everytime i shove i seem to run into a monster. Not including rakeback, I'm $-285 in profit for the month over 1365 games. That also indicates that I haven't played anywhere near the volume I've wanted to.

I added a flag counter to my blog yesterday too. Really cool because instead of just a plain hit counter, I get to see all the countries that check out my blog. Fun stuff.

One additional note - I've started table selecting a lot more, marking everyone I come across based on their ROI. There are a lot of regs (I know several that read this blog, I won't call them out here though) that really need to start table selecting instead of just regging in every game in the lobby. Seeing games go off with like 6 winning players is just ridiculous. Plenty of fish for all of us to go around. Secondly, those players (calling out Deezel50 in particular) that berate fish in games need to get their head checked. Seriously, why would you want to discourage fish from playing in your games? I saw Deezel start talking shit to a fish about a hand that he (deezel) wasn't even involved in. WTF?

Anyways, to everyone else that reads my blog, feel free to say hi to me at the tables, I may not respond all the time because I'm scared to misclick with table ninja lol. But often I will respond anyways, just cause I can't help myself. :) gl everyone!

Slow Start to June

So yeah, June hasn't been particularly fun yet....I haven't put in anywhere near the volume I wanted to, but that's mostly because ive been putting in some hours at a real job this week. The small-town grocery store I've worked at the last three summers asked me to fill in for someone who had to take the week off. Having only worked summers, someone replaced my regular shift and they didn't have regular work for me when I wanted it back this summer. Although its nice to see some of the regulars at the store lately, this week has definitely reminded me that I enjoy grinding SNGs much more.

I've still managed to put in 395 games so far, for a measly $271 (rakeback included) at the $24s. Thats pretty much all from today's work actually. Breakeven stretches blow, but its part of the sng grind. My last shift at the store is a short 4 hour shift tonight, so after that I should be able to put in the volume I want again again.

Oh and after a week FTP finally paid me my leaderboard bonus. so add the $121 to the sharkscope totals.

May Recap

So today pretty much saved my month. I got lazy and decided not to update during my horrific 40ish buyin downswing at the 24s. To regain a bit of confidence, I moved back down to the 12s - and quickly realized how unbelievably soft they are. Seems like a lot of the good regs moved up. Saturday night, I decided it was time to move back up.....brokeven and lost a bit Sat. night and Sunday (despite a crazy/sick grind day Sunday). Then today was quite simply awesome. 75 games at 50% ROI - $903 profit. Hoping to continue teh run good into June. I also finished 5th on the FTP low limit sng leaderboard so I'm pretty stoked about that.

Roller Coaster Sunday Evening

I didn't play until the evening, but it was no doubt a very up and down evening. Played 62 games tonight...and even though i had a 14 game cash-less streak at one point, i still finished the night with $433 profit (not including rakeback). Thank you sunday fishies. :)

Why didn't I play before the evening? I went to visit my grandma in the afternoon and then went to see my cousin, who had just returned from a month-long trip to Africa. He is a professional photographer and I had a chance to flip through about 3000 pictures with him (he had already whittled it down from 5000!). Obviously we didnt see all 3000, but he was picking out tall the good ones for show. Some absolutely amazing photos, he managed to get great up close shots of most of the animals he wanted to, as well as some breathtaking landscapes. Makes me want to get out and do some travelling haha.

Challenge 1/4 Complete

As of right now anyway. The challenge stands at $2535 profit after last nights play which I'm pretty stoked about. Still running ok for now at the 24s - continuing to annoy regs that I've already crossed paths with at the 12s and getting the current regs at the 24s to hate me. The more regs hate me, the better chance I have of them staying out of my games - or at the very least, my pots.

Probably gonna play some more while during the hockey game....go habs go!

Getting into the staking business

Got into the staking business today - I've taken on a horse by the name of SYLAER, who will be grinding 27/45 man SNGs on FTP for me, with a 50/50 split of profits. The terms of the contract include the stipulation that he must play at least 75 games a week, and he will start at the $5 games. I will decide whether or not to move him up on a week-to-week basis. He played a quick 4 games tonight to start the stake, and in those 4 he already won a 27 man and mincashed another 27 man. I'm really excited about this stake and I have a good feeling that it'll be profitable for both of us.

As for my own games...started the day with a minor downswing, recovered at the end and put the challenge mark over $2k and then some. Didn't put in amazing volume today due to the organization of my staking deal, hopefully I'll be able to get more volume in tomorrow.

Should note that I won't be posting every day, but extended upswings/downswings and other events of note will probably warrant a blog post. Posting every day would probably be a bit much, as I'm also posting updates in the 2p2 forum.

Just a fish on a heater honestly...

May continues to be awesome for me. Almost another $500 profit since my first post in this blog. Would've kept playing tonight but my internet was kinda crapping out on me. Was running kinda badly ITM as well today, so it was probably a decent time to quit anyway.

I also had a really solid review session with lessonthree last night, a solid winning reg at the $24s who recently moved up from the $12s. We did a review of each other's hand histories through teamviewer, which was really productive. Since I work on a Mac, I have no access to SNGWiz or any of those lovely little tools, so it was good to work through some close spots with him last night. He also co-owns his own coaching site for micro SNG players, so if you're struggling with your game at the micros I'd highly recommend him. Link to his site is listed to the right.

10k in Summer '10

Welcome to my blog everyone! Probably should've started this blog earlier, but better late than never I suppose. I'm starting my new blog off with a goal that I've already started - a march to 10k profit through any and all poker related profit (including regular play rakeback, staking, live - anything poker-related whether it be a win or loss gets recorded). I'm recording from May 1 to Aug 31. As of right now, I'm at $1540 profit according to SharkScope (inc. rakeback) through the first half of May. Too lazy to post the graph, but look it up on SS if you don't believe me. My goal is at least 2k games in May, and I've got 1134 games under my belt so far this month.

At this point I'm playing the $12 turbos on FTP. I'm actually overrolled to move up to the $24s, but I've decided to continue grinding the $12s until June 1, barring an ugly downswing. So sorry to all you $12 regs, I'm gonna continue raping you on the bubble until June 1. :) I'll post some fun hands here for your enjoyment as well from time to time, and graphs at the end of each month.

I should also mention, if you want the top rakeback deals anywhere, you can also get them through me! Visit http://wasy.pokeraffiliatesolutions.com/ and create a new account. If you're a low-stakes grinder interested in playing on a new site, (one where you don't already have an account), and you are a proven winner in your games - talk to me and maybe we can work out a staking deal.
